this month saw deng yun as being very active, very strong and very vocal! here's how he would treat a balloon and how he found the lost city of the "things-under-the-table":

Year 01: Highlights for the fortnight

deng yun started his 2nd musical lesson today. and the highlights of these two weeks:

taking a dinner break from saving the world:

apart of all these, deng yun also knows how to repeat what you say 90% of the time and starts to sing on his own.

and the best part: when i say "bye bye xuan xuan" to him, he says "bye bye daddy" to me!

Year 01: First musical lesson

deng yun had his first musical lesson today! what what i heard, the teachers play some songs and the kids either sing or dance or run around or just sit there with a blank look. luckily, knowing my son, he does not belong to the last group!

Year 01: Relaxing with a drink

after a long a hard day's work as a toddler, deng yun was relaxing at home with a drink of water:

Year 01: Deng Yun feeding Daddy!

while there was no photo of deng yun feeding me (since i was alone at home with him), here's a photo of him feeding himself some apples, his favourite fruit:

Year 01: First trip to the Zoo!

deng yun went to the zoo today, and it was his first trip! but because we went there after 1pm, there wasn't much time to tour the place. so we took a round trip on the scenic bus and visited several places like the incredible boring car-ride:

Year 01: Numbers in Mandarin!

yes, deng yun can count from 1 to 10 in Mandarin! then, we went to eat in a chinese-china-owned restaurant where deng yun always welcomes food:

yeah, ting yee and i went to watch the movie, "Clash of the Titans" while her sister looked after deng yun. before that, we had dinner at Kenny Rogers:

Year 01: Shapes!

after dinner, deng yun was able to recognise shapes, especially star (which he already knew a year ago!), circle, triangle, square, heart, and the most impressive one, hexagon! check out the video:

Year 01: Scissors, Paper, Stone!

my mother, deng yun and i went to the airport to see my dad off to hong kong. during lunch time, deng yun and my mother played tracing art at changi airport terminal 3:


after that, while having a drink, deng yun played with a cold can drink by placing it against his face, along with my mum's face, my dad's face and my face!


back at my mother's place, deng yun and i played scissors, paper, stone:

Year 01: Pouring a drink

was that deng yun pouring from the bottle and drinking from the cap?

Year 01: Good morning teacher!

deng yun's teacher told ting yee that he loved music and would sing and dance. He had been singing many songs too like "Baa baa black sheep", "Old Mcdonald had a farm", etc.

also, deng yun said "good morning teacher" and "goodbye everybody" at the centre! and when he walked back with ting yee, he carried her bag!


back at home, deng yun loved being chased around by his parents and squealed with delight! and check out deng yun SERIOUSLY playing his new toy rocket!

Year 01: Outing with Mummy and Daddy

we had dim sum in the afternoon and deng yun was so happy playing in the restaurant:

Year 01: Recognising Colours

on the way to the airport to meet up with my father, deng yun was able to recognise the different colours that we asked him to identify! red! white! black! blue! yellow!

when we met up with my father, he gave deng yun a new lamborgini toy car!

ting yee met up with her ex-colleagues for lunch and one of them, Haizan, gave deng yun a toy rocket! check it out:

Year 01: Wednesday Night Fever!

don't worry, deng yun was not having a fever. but instead, he had dancing fever!

Year 01: Mummy and Daddy eat!

during dinner time, deng yun started to say us "mother eat" and "daddy eat" in cantonese! this meant that we taught him some table manners!

then after dinner, there were more singing and more "Avatar" and "Warrior":

Year 01: Castle of Blocks!

in the afternoon, deng yun and i were building a "Castle of Blocks":


which shortly after, was "destroyed" by him. then he played the "80cm drop" game:


at night, not only did deng yun know how to sing now, he also knew how to get off his cot!
