Year 03: Nex rooftop playground

in the morning, deng yun was playing with his Elmo music guitar:


then we went to nex to have lunch at Wendy's and let deng yun play at the rooftop playground where he had a smashing wet time:


then it started to rain and we had to go back home. deng yun was seen sulking:

Year 03: Playground again!

we brought deng yun to the playground at our HDB estate, where he was running up and around:

Year 03: First use of the ezlink card and Thomas school bag

deng yun used his ezlink card for the first time today:


he is after all, tall enough to tap the card on the console. and he even brought his Thomas and Friends bag with him to school:

Year 03: Birthday celebration @ Explorer Kid

happy birthday deng yun! today, we went to Explorer Kid to have fun! first, we had breakfast at coffee bean where deng yun was waiting for his milk:


then, he ran into the multi-storey indoor playground (with me tagging behind) to play:


because Explorer Kid knew today was deng yun's birthday (because we flashed his card to gain free entrance for him), they gave him some party favours after announcing his name via the intercom:


next, he submerged himself into a pool of luminous balls:


in the afternoon, we had lunch with my mother, and had another birthday cake:


back home, deng yun was a satisfied boy, standing next to his many presents:

Year 02: Father's Day and a new dance move!

then, we had a simple father's day celebration where we went to United Square for lunch. deng yun also played with one of those coin-operated machines:

Year 02: Birthday celebration @ the childcare centre!

deng yun celebrated his 3rd year birthday at his childcare centre. ting yee and i went over to the centre to wake up deng yun and his friends. we laid out the food around the table:

and finally deng yun blew the candles and cut the cake:


then before we went off, ting yee and i "mingled" with the kids:


back home, i was the drill sergeant for deng yun "run-around-the-coffee-table":

we attended a fun fair with my mother at an Hougang HDB void deck where people played different games:

Year 02: Meet-the-Parents @ the childcare

ting yee and i attended deng yun's Meet-the-Parents session at his childcare centre. the teachers told and showed us a series of events that were fun for deng yun:

we went to Bugis Junction so that deng yun could run around and play with coin operated machines:

Year 02: Visit to Restaurant @ Noble House

we had dinner with my mother today at the restaurant at Noble House. we will telling deng yun this was the place his parents had their wedding banquet!

after i dropped off deng yun at his childcare centre, i saw him sat down beside his friend:

at night, we went to City Square Mall for dinner and saw the characters from Sesame Street:

Year 02: Vivocity trip!

we went to Vivocity to explore the wonders there. starting from the "pool" at the top of the complex:

then deng yun got naughty, hit me in the head a couple of times when i pulled him away from a kiddie motorised car he wanted to ride. i brought him to the toilet and spanked him.

then back home, he actually knows how to call our names in mandarin! and his creativity kicked in again, with his own assembly of thomas and friends train tracks, as well as a block he was holding that looked vaguely like a cake:

Year 02: New Wardrobe and Diaper Station assembled

no, the diaper station is not for deng yun. he is now too big for it!

yes, the new wardrobe is partly for deng yun, and no, it is not a replacement bed for him.

Year 02: Bye Bye Fishy Fishy!

when i was bathing deng yun, there was a strong smell. not it was not his poo, but rather a bottle, containing a "fish" that deng yun "made" at his childcare centre about half a year ago. yes, it was the smell of the water! i threw it away after i finished bathing deng yun.

Year 02: Plaza Singapura, the Bumblebee Song and Star Wars!

we took a trip to Plaza Singapura to play at the family area:

back home, deng yun sang the bumblebee song:

Year 02: Never Ever Disturb My Sleep!

well, today was one of the worst evening of our lives. first, deng yun did not have his afternoon nap. and when he finally slept, it was at the dining table at Vines:


then when we woke him up to bring him back home, he refused, and ate ice-cream. but when we refused to give him more, he cried and cried and turned violet. he started throwing tantrums (and embarrassed me, not ting yee though..), while kicking, sreaming, punching all the way onto the bus until he was pacified by one of the kiddie games on my mobile phone.

Year 02: A trip to Ikea and the Super Duper Hero song!

we went to Ikea today to buy a wardrobe for our 2nd baby and had dinner there. check out deng yun and his "fine" dining ambiance:
