Year 00: Full of poo!

in the morning, when i was feeding deng yun, poo "oozed" out of deng yun's diapers and flowed onto my shirt and shorts! apparently, either the diaper was not tight enough or there was just too much poo! anyway, i had to change my clothes.

then the three of us (ting yee, deng yun and i) headed to Hougang Mall to do some grocery shopping. after that, to my mum's place and joined her for dinner at a nearby taiwanese restaruant.

my mother had a mahjong game, and so, the three of us (again!) headed to ikea to buy more furniture. after we got back home and before midnight, deng yun said his first "ha ha" words! it was so cute!

and yeah, throughout the day, deng yun was like this on and off:

Year 00: Injection shots!

deng yun was a brave little boy today. he only cried for a few seconds during the injections he received today. of course, he was distracted by some kind of robot. he received a total of 3 injections and they include:

1. infanrix (a combination vaccine of inactivated bacteria and viruses which include diphteria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis and haemophilus influenzae type b);
2. prevenar; and
3. rotarix

(Note: like we understand what all those medical terms are!)

then at home, there were a few times deng yun cried and cried non-stop. i suspect it was colic, but not too sure...

Year 00: 1st visit to Deng Yun's Grandpa's place

after work, i met up with ting yee and deng yun at Tanglin Shopping Centre to have dinner at Tambuah Mas (ting yee's favourite indonesian restaurant). however, instead of the baby "mobile", ting yee bought the baby harness. so, throughout dinner, we had to rotate between us so as to carry him in one arm, and eat with the other.

after dinner, we headed to ting yee's father's place. this was deng yun's first visit to his grandpa's place.

Year 00: Using the baby harnass for the first time

today was the day we tried on the baby harness and it worked very well with deng yun. he did not cry at all while using the harness. although it did make him look pretty squashed up:


we went out to toa payoh to do grocery shopping, and this baby harness really freed up my two hands to carry more things.

Year 00: 1st visit to Deng Yun's Grandma's place

today, ting yee and i finally got to watch The Dark Knight. ting yee's sister came along too. but before that, we had to leave little deng yun with ting yee's auntie. the movie was excellent!

then, we went back to pick up Deng Yun from ting yee's auntie and headed to my mother's place for dinner. this was Deng Yun's first visit to his grandma's place.

Year 00: 2 months old!

well, deng yun has reached 2 months today! in my opinion, he has been rather naughty but cute at the same time...

ting yee brought deng yun out to register him at Ci You (http://www.ciyou.org/), an infant and childcare centre near where we stay. he will begin his "classes" on 2 September 2008.

then she brought him to Funan IT Mall to meet me up after my work, where we had dinner. we headed to Takashimaya to buy more baby stuff, which included a baby harness, a manual breast pump, a Disney thermos flask, some cotton wool and buds, and two more feeding bottles.

Year 00: 1st trip to Changi Airport Terminal 3

because my dad was flying back to Hong Kong this afternoon, ting yee and i made a trip to Changi Airport Terminal 3, bringing along deng yun. it was deng yun's first time visitng Terminal 3 and first time in his stroller going up and down the escalator!

yes, as first time parents, we are excited about these things. after Terminal 3, my auntie drove us home and we rested for a while, before heading to ting yee's best friend's daughter full-month celebration. i joked that deng yun was going to see his girlfriend!

Year 00: Novena Square

novena square seemed to be the place for deng yun.

apart from monday's dinner with my parents and grandmother and tuesday's dinner with my dad and aunties, ting yee, deng yun and i went back to novena square again this evening to have dinner with my dad.

this was deng yun's first time visit to novena square kopitiam (food court) and he urged you to go there too:

Year 00: Deng Yun's great-grandmother

deng yun's great-grandmother paid him a visit all the way from USA. actually, she and my parents also went to melbourne to attend my brother's wedding and they all came back to singapore together with me in the same flight yesterday.

for dinner, all of us (the above-mentioned, including ting yee and deng yun) went out to eat in a chinese restaurant. deng yun was so happy during dinner:

Year 00: Deng Yun's daddy is back!

i came back from melbourne and went straight back home to see ting yee and deng yun! but it seemed deng yun was not too happy to see me:
