Year 00: Third time swimming!

my friend, KH, called me today and wanted to have dinner together and to ask me about some baby stuff. he is dr@co's daddy. i told him that i was bringing deng yun to swimming. KH then met me at the infant care and offered to give deng yun and i a ride to the swimming place.

we then met up with ting yee and deng yun proceeded to swim... in front of many people (his "fans") who were looking in from the outside of the swimming place. after the crowd dispersed, perhaps due to deng yun's rather in-activeness in the swimming tub, deng yun poo-ed inside the tub! we had to change to another tub.

Year 00: First time to Sizzler all-you-can-eat restaurant

after bathing deng yun:


our family had lunch with ting yee's sister at Sizzler all-you-can-eat restaurant. then we went to pick up our family portrait photos: two are in 4R and one is in 8R, which is currently hanging on our wall in the living room.

later, deng yun pee-ed on me when i was changing his diapers.

Year 00: First family portrait taken today

in the morning, after ting yee bathed deng yun, i was playing with him on the bed by putting him on top of me, and rolling from side to side. it was great fun!

then we had our first family portrait taken. as with all infants, deng yun couldn't sit still and kept moving and looking here and there. but we did manage to choose 3 pictures. one of them is here:

then we left deng yun in the care of her auntie's maids and we actually had some time to rest and celebrated our belated 11th anniversary (actual date is 26 Sept)... by having sakae sushi buffet!

and that was it. but we did celebrate with deng yun at home after picking him up from ting yee's auntie's place. we had "kueh lapis" instead of a cake.

Year 00: Lifting the head...

after 6pm, i had to carry my work laptop and files back home. but i also had to pick up deng yun. i only got onto a taxi at 6.25pm from my client's place at Chai Chee. and yes, because of the Grand Prix in Singapore, there was traffic jam on the way to the infant care centre.

luckily, i reached the centre at 6.55pm (their closing time is 7pm). and they gave deng yun a children's day gift (more diapers!). then i had to carry the laptop, files, deng yun's baby stuff, deng yun himself, and walked back home. heavy and tiring, but worth the walk!

then while waiting for ting yee, i played with deng yun and realised that he actually laughed (he made a "ha ha ha" sound!) when i tickled him:



after that, i put deng yun on the bed, with his stomach against it. i think his head was up 45 degrees. have a look:

Year 00: Second time swimming!

since ting yee's sister had paid for 10 swimming sessions (we already used one on 9 September), we planned to bring deng yun swimming every tuesday.

so today, after work, i picked up deng yun from infant care and met up with ting yee at habourfront. deng yun was not as active as the first time, but nevertheless, he had fun:

Year 00: Painting from infant care

as mentioned on the 10 September 2008 post, deng yun had painted some abstract art. only today did ting yee collected it from the infant care. here's the product:

Year 00: Visit to Grand Uncles and Aunties house

we went over to ting yee's uncle and auntie's house and all of them there really doted on deng yun! after all, they hadn't seen him for a fortnight.

Year 00: 3 months old.. and lying... on mummy!

today was deng yun's 3rd month old. and here's a treat for everyone:


and for his present, we collected his first passport from ICA, which we applied online. and deng yun was spotted a cowboy look on the way back home:


later at night, we went over to my mum's place, had dinner, and went to compass point for a stroll in the mall...

then after midnight, it was ting yee's turn to lie deng yun on top of her:

Year 00: Deng Yun Lying.. on daddy!

yeah, after i picked up deng yun from infant care, i played with him at home, by lying him on my stomach. he was all smiles and laughter:


that is, until after about 10 minutes, he started crying. thank goodness ting yee came back and i actually went to sleep at 7.45pm!

Year 00: Deng Yun's short trip

nothing much today, the three of us just went for a short trip to NTUC for groceries. one of the few times deng yun took the bus with us.

Year 00: Poo... the stain that attracts daddy's clothes...

the three of us visited and had lunch with ting yee's sister at her house. deng yun was rather quiet and obedient throughout.

but then in the evening, deng yun once again pooed all over my shirt and shorts when we just got to the taxi to go to my cousin's place for dinner and mid-autumn festival celebration. so we had to tell the cab driver to turn back. apparently, it wasn't really the diaper's fault, but rather, when you add the diaper to the baby harnass, poo happened! deng yun had the cheek to smile while poo-ing!

therefore, we ended up not going to my cousin's place after informing him of what had happened. and i had an early shower!

sigh... deng yun was such a darling in the morning:

Year 00: Mid-Autumn Festival celebration with Grandma and her friends

we can also bring deng yun to the infant care on saturdays from 7am to 2pm. this was what ting yee (the super mom!) did in the morning. this was because she had to catch up on her work and i was afraid to bathe deng yun (because i cannot handle a slippery baby!).

in the evening, my mother showed off his grandson to her friends during one of her club's celebration for mid-autumn festival. i think because of that, deng yun was so happy before we attended the dinner:

Year 00: Back to work for mommy!

yes, today was the day ting yee went back to work. so we had to wake up earlier to drop off deng yun at the infant care.

thus began our routine life with deng yun... at least he still had fun at home, as evident in the following picture!

Year 00: First painting classes in infant care centre!

deng yun had his first painting class at his infant care centre today.

everyday when we pick up deng yun, the caretakers at the infant care show us a list of things our baby did for the day: how many times he poo or pee, the duration of his naps, his feeding times and any extra activities he participates in.

Year 00: Swimming for the 1st time! And arrival of baby Dr@co!

after work, i met up with ting yee and deng yun at Habourfront for deng yun's first swimming experience! this experience was sponsored by his auntie (ting yee's sister). from the looks on his face and body movement in the picture below, he seemed to be enjoying himself very much!


and only today we realised that deng yun has a "heart" shape birth mark on his right butt cheek! (picture not shown here by request of ting yee due to deng yun's modesty...)

Year 00: Deng Yun goes to school!

2 Sept 08 (Tues) was Deng Yun's 1st day at school! Mummy packed his school bag with his milk bottles, clothes, towels, diapers, comb, etc. To help him get accustomed, he only attended half a day every day this week. However, mummy was a little hesitant when the time came to bring him to the infant care centre because he was after all only 2 months+ ! Nevertheless, he went and made many new friends, all between the ages of 2-6 months. So cute! :>

Daddy picked Deng Yun up with mummy yesterday and today. Next week, daddy will have to bring him to school as mummy is going back to work! Need to adjust our lives again! (Groan!)
