Year 00: Fifth time swimming, and monthly vaccination

ting yee brought deng yun to see the doctor for his monthly vaccination. then they spent the rest of the afternoon at vivocity and habourfront.

after my company's retreat at Sentosa, a couple of my colleagues joined me to meet up with ting yee and deng yun to watch deng yun swim for the fifth time. ting yee's sister and her colleague also came along. here's the fifth time:


then ting yee, deng yun and i had dinner at harbourfront, and headed to ting yee's sister's office to meet more of her colleagues. during that time, deng yun actually was able to hold onto his milk bottle for a while:


shortly after, we went back home.

Year 00: Kickin' Bobbin' Gym

after work, i assembled the toy (called Kickin' Bobbin' Gym) that ting yee's sister gave deng yun:

but after he came back from infant care, he fell asleep into the night.

Year 00: Public Holiday? Yeah right!

today was supposed to be a public holiday. but ting yee went to work after dropping deng yun off at her aunties' place.

then we brought deng yun back at around 9.30pm.

Year 00: Airport outing

my dad and auntie came over to our place to pick up deng yun, ting yee and i and travelled to the airport to send my dad off. deng yun was just fascinated with the surrounding when my dad was carrying him:


after my dad left Singapore, deng yun, ting yee and i waited for a few hours to meet up with my mother, who was returning from Hong Kong, and we all had dinner at the airport.

Year 00: Fourth time swimming!

my dad, ting yee and i brought deng yun to Vivocity and spent the whole day there. after lunch, we brought deng yun to swimming again:


he was more active in the tub this time than the last time. then, all of us met up with my two aunties for dinner at Novena Square.

Year 00: Grandpa visit to infant care centre

my dad visited the infant care for the first time and he felt that the centre wasn't a bad place after all.

then, after feeding deng yun, he felt asleep into the night...

Year 00: First 180 degrees roll!

deng yun used the quilt mattress we bought from eBay for the first time, and he did a 180 degrees roll for the first time! we missed filming the process, but here is an attempt he made after his first 180 degrees roll:

Year 00: 4 months old.. and still sick!

deng yun was 4 months old today, but he was still very sick, and ting yee had to stay home to look after him. here's deng yun thanking his fans for their support:

Year 00: Visit from my dad

deng yun was supposed to attend a swimming trial competition today, but was too sick to do so. ting yee had to bring deng yun to KK hospital in the morning while i picked up my dad from the airport. my dad came to Singapore to visit before heading to Malaysia for a conference.

all of us met back at our place, where my dad stayed the whole afternoon and evening, playing with deng yun.

Year 00: Big Puke!

in the morning, after drinking milk, deng yun suddenly puked out most of the milk! when we were cleaning up the puke, we noticed that there was phlegm in the puke. there was also mucus "bubble" coming out of deng yun:


then we sent him to ting yee's auntie's place so that we could get a good sleep in the afternoon.

after dinner with ting yee's auntie's family, we brought deng yun back home and ting yee's sister stopped by with her friends to drop off a huge toy for deng yun:


but at night, deng yun was having a slight fever. we were considering bringing him to the hospital. but he was still able to sleep, and we left it at that.

Year 00: Playing with Toys

after my ICPAS Pre-admission course, i met up with another eBay seller to buy a baby piano for deng yun. then, i picked him up from the infant care and went home to try out the bumbo seat and baby piano:

the bumbo seat was a bit small for deng yun actually. when he was making a big fuss in the bumbo seat, i transferred him to the baby rocker, and he started playing with the dangling toys, including pulling the musical handle:

Year 00: Shopping Spree!

yes! we bought these two things on eBay for deng yun:

(Voice Activated Crib Light)

first, i had to travel all the way to some faraway place (Bukit Panjang) to collect the Bumbo seat and then headed to some place i had not heard before, Jalan Ringgit something, to collect the Voice Activated Crib Light. and i took only public transport.

then, ting yee was late in picking up deng yun from the infant care and ended up paying $30.00! so in the end, was everything worth it?

Year 00: Deng Yun is sick again!

deng yun fell sick today, and ting yee had to bring him to NUH again. he was coughing and had phlegm. however, the doctor said that he was ok. at the doctor's, ting yee weighed him and it was 8.27kg!

around the same time, i met up with an eBay seller and bought a quilt mattress for deng yun.

Year 00: Eye talk for Babies and Toddlers

first, we dropped deng yun off at the infant care. then ting yee and i went to meet up an ebay seller to buy a diaper changing station for deng yun:

after a buffet lunch at Sizzler (lunch at Sizzler shall be our monthly activity from now on), we picked up deng yun and went for an Eye talk for babies and toddlers. deng yun was wearing his cap for the first time:

potential gathering: we urged all our readers of this blog with babies who are 6 months and above to screen their babies for eye problems like "cross-eyes", "lazy eyes", etc... if not treated early, it will greatly affect your babies' eye sight when they are growing up.

ting yee and i will be bringing deng yun to have his eyes check when he is 6 months' old. but we are also thinking of gathering our friends like KH and ting yee's best friend to go together around March next year. if you two are reading this, keep this in mind.

after the talk, ting yee and i slept for the rest of the afternoon. at night, we had our family outing, visiting Kiddy Palace, having dinner at Mos Burger and finally dropping off a baby head rest at KH's place for his baby.

Year 00: Visit from DT

DT, my friend from my secondary school years visited us tonight with his wife. i haven't seen them since their wedding last year in July. it was great for them to buy deng yun a present. if you are reading this, DT, thanks!

Year 00: Playing with the rocker

although deng yun had been sitting on the rocker which ting yee's colleagues bought, he did not really "played" with the toys that was dangling from it. but today, ad also because he was getting bigger physically now, i put him in the rocker to see if he had any reaction to it. well, see for yourself:


then later, KH came over to drop off some cakes and red eggs for his baby's full-month.

Year 00: Met up with friends from our uni

our family met up with our friends from uni to see deng yun for the first time (some for the second time). they commented that deng yun was rather big for his age (we get that a lot). deng yun received two presents from two of our uni friends, SH & H. if you are reading this, thank you SH & H for the wonderful presents. i like the "Avatar" coin tin, even though it was the wrong "Avatar":

Year 00: Family outing @ Hougang Mall

we had a family outing at Hougang Mall and had dinner at a japanese restaurant there. deng yun was easy to handle today:

Year 00: Dinner at dr@co's!

yes, after work, armed with deng yun, and our home delivered dinner, ting yee and i "crashed" into our friend, KH's place to see, for the first time, his nearly one month old son, dr@co (check out his blog @ dracosweethome.blogspot.com).

dr@co has such big eyes and when we put deng yun and dr@co together, you can tell deng yun was much bigger in size! scary!

Year 00: Children's Day!

it was children's day, not adult's day, because today, ting yee had to go back to work, and i had to stay home in the afternoon to look after deng yun. take a guess what happened...
