Year 00: Mattresses for play time!

we bought two mattresses for deng yun to play on when ting yee's sister came for a visit.  this was because i think deng yun is slowly getting too big for his cot:

Year 00: First Pasar Malam outing

the three of us went to visit ting yee's best friend, jennifer and her family, and we got the idea to buy mattresses for deng yun to play on.

and when we put deng yun next to jennifer's daughter, deng yun always cried:

Year 00: First time we fed deng yun solids as well as brushed his two teeth

today was the first time we fed him solids:

Year 00: Deng Yun's first Christmas and he poo-ed on me for the umpteenth time!

the three of us went over to ting yee's colleague's daughter's engagement party.  then after that, while feeding deng yun at Jurong IMM, he poo-ed and the poo flowed out of the diaper and onto my shirt and pants! AGAIN!

back at home, we opened up all deng yun's presents from ting yee's relatives and friends:

the three of us and my mother went over to my cousins' place and met up with many relatives from my father's side.  this was for the christmas dinner held by my cousins.

Year 00: First time eating rice cereal

today was the first time deng yun ate rice cereal at the infant care centre. at home, he was "eating" teddy bear:

Year 00: 1st swimming competition and probably the last

we brought deng yun to his first swimming competition today.  but deng yun was not really into splashing, so there went his chance in winning the competition.  nevertheless, he had fun:

then both deng yun and i followed ting yee to her work place, where i did some work and deng yun was sleeping in his stroller.  he was awaken later by the cleaners there.  still, here's a picture of deng yun after those cleaners woke him up:

then in the evening, we had dinner at NUH and then brought deng yun to see the doctor again.

Year 00: 6 months old!

deng yun was six months old today! however, we brought deng yun to the infant care centre in the morning, because we were busy.

then i was at home in the afternoon with deng yun:

and after watching the "Your Baby can talk" DVD, deng yun went to take an afternoon nap.

Year 00: Christmas Gift Exchange at Infant Care Centre

there was a gift exchange at the infant care centre and deng yun chose a big present!

after work, deng yun, ting yee and i had dinner with ting yee's colleagues at her favourite indonesian restaurant.  deng yung was actually not the least bit troublesome.  in fact, he slept through most of the time during dinner.

Year 00: Eighth time swimming

deng yun's swimming session for today was for free, because the guy at the swimming place called ting yee yesterday and told her that some people from channel U will be at the swimming place at 5.30pm!

but when ting yee rushed down and arrived exactly at 5.30pm, the people there told her it was actually 2.30pm! duh!

ting yee got pissed off, and so the people at the swimming place gave deng yun one free session:

after that, i arrived and all of us went for christmas shopping.

Year 00: Blah Blah... Ba Ba?

deng yun was blah blah-ing.  then he actually said something that sounded like "ba-ba" (cantonese for father)!  check out the video:

Year 00: Deng Yun was sick again

in the morning, we went to NUH so that the doctor can do something about deng yun's flu.  luckily no major issue like the previous time.

then ting yee's uncle picked him up and deng yun stayed at his place until at night, when ting yee went to pick him up and back to our place.

Year 00: 1st Teacher/Parent Conference at Infant Care Centre

yeah, we attended the first Teacher/Parent Conference at the infant care centre.  the teachers told us about deng yun's progress at the centre for the past 4 months.  we even did a hand painting of a christmas tree as a family! and ting yee was carrying deng yun in the sarong:

then we spent the rest of the day at home, with me and deng yun sleeping and ting yee doing housework.

at night, we went to toa payoh to meet up with my mother and did some shopping.

Year 00: Seventh time swimming

time really does fly by quickly. today was the seventh time deng yun went for his swimming session.  nothing out of the ordinary, except that he talked a lot today, during and after swimming!

Year 00: Alone with Deng Yun Part 3

the usual: ting yee went to work, i stayed home on a public holiday to look after deng yun.  but i have to admit that it is easier to look after him nowadays.  here's a picture of deng yun reaching for his favourite toy: "Number 2"

Year 00: First 2 teeth!

yes! we just realised when we were at ting yee's auntie's place that deng yun was cutting his first lower front two teeth! the teeth were not fully out yet, only the top bits were showing! still, they are so cute! see if you can figure it out in this picture:

Year 00: Meeting up with my dad's friend from Hong Kong

in the morning, deng yun was wrapped like a dumpling:


and at night, we went to meet up with my dad's friend and his wife, who were visiting for a short while in singapore. when they were carrying deng yun, he poo-ed... and everyone could smell it...

Year 00: First time with a balloon!

when i picked up deng yun, the lady at the infant care centre gave us a present. it was actually a gift from the parents of one of the babies there, who had turned 1 year old today. check it out:

the gift pack consisted of a romper, a bib, a hand towel and a balloon. and guess who was playing with the balloon:

Year 00: Deng Yun with Ting Yee's aunties

Because the infant care centre was closed for these two days (Mon and Tues), we left deng yun with ting yee's aunties. This resulted in both of us working late and did not really spend much time with deng yun.
